When a wipe is not enough
A coin-sized mark on hard bathroom grout after a week of rain is not the same as a bedroom carpet that stayed wet behind a bed. Large areas, HVAC involvement, or vulnerable occupants (infants, elderly, immune compromise) are reasons to stop DIY. We are not a medical service and we do not diagnose illness.
Moisture first
If the leak is still live, cleaning is cosmetics. Use water-damage first steps and the water-damage hub. Outdoor-indoor humidity on the Gold Coast means “it dried in a day” is a claim you should verify with a meter, not a hand.
Carpets versus walls
Carpet pads hold spores and dust. Some jobs become removal, not cleaning. Painted plaster can be cleaned or cut out depending on depth. Do not fog a house with random chemicals and call it remediation.
